Fansly separates a normal account from creator access. You can create an account first, but you need to complete the creator application before you can use the platform’s creator tools.
What you need before you apply
Fansly’s current application guidance says applicants must be at least 18 years old and legally an adult in their country. You also need a Fansly account with a verified email address before starting the creator application.
It is worth checking your account details before you begin. Fansly recommends using a proper username rather than leaving a temporary system-generated name in place.
Step 1: Start the creator application
The official application starts from Fansly’s creator application page. The process currently has two verification stages rather than a single form.
Third-party identity and age verification
The first stage uses Fansly’s verification partner, Ondato. This stage is used to verify your identity and age with a government-issued photo ID. After the verification step is completed, the application continues to the Fansly form.
Fansly’s own verification step
Fansly’s current help documentation says the second stage asks for additional verification material. This includes a clear photo of the front and back of your government-issued photo ID, a photo of you holding the ID together with a handwritten sign, and a short video showing you with the ID and sign.
The handwritten sign is required to include your legal name, the date and the words “For Fansly”. Your face needs to be clearly visible in the verification material.
What happens after you submit the application?
Fansly reviews the application and sends updates by email. Approval gives you access to creator tools. Fansly’s documentation specifically mentions tools for uploading media, locking content, scheduling posts and sharing stories.
Once approved, you can also continue setting up the financial side of the account, including adding a payout method.
Common reasons to prepare carefully
The creator application is an identity and age-verification process, so readable documents and accurate information matter. Make sure your ID is current, your personal information matches your documents and your verification photos are clear before submitting.
Best Creators tip: finish the profile before promoting it
Approval is only the technical starting point. Before sending traffic to your Fansly profile, complete the public-facing parts of your page: profile image, banner, bio, subscription setup and enough content to make the profile understandable to a new visitor.
This last section is an editorial recommendation from Best Creators, not a Fansly application requirement.
