A video thumbnail is often the first visual clue a fan sees before deciding whether to watch or unlock a clip. Fansly allows creators to choose a frame from the video or upload a custom image when building a media offer.
Where to change a video thumbnail
When a video is attached to a media offer, open the media settings from the gear icon. Fansly currently provides options such as Edit Cover for the main video and Edit Preview Cover when the preview itself is a video.
Choose a frame or upload a custom image
You can select a suitable frame from the clip or upload a separate thumbnail. A custom image gives you more control over composition, text placement and consistent branding across several offers.
The cover and preview cover do different jobs
The main cover represents the paid video, while a preview cover represents the teaser when the preview is also video. If both are videos, you may see both editing options. If no video is present, those thumbnail controls are not needed.
Make the thumbnail accurate, not misleading
A strong thumbnail can improve clicks, but it should still represent the content being sold. Avoid using a cover that implies a scene, performer or level of access that the buyer will not actually receive.
Best Creators tip: create a recognizable visual system
Use similar framing, typography or layout for recurring content series. Fans should be able to recognize a premium set, bundle or weekly video before reading the full caption.
