What a Fansly follower is
Following a creator is free. Followers can see posts, previews and updates that the creator makes available to followers. They can also receive relevant notifications and creator communications.
Fansly notes that some creators may require a verified payment method before a user can follow them. Adding a payment method does not by itself create a paid subscription.
What a Fansly subscriber is
A subscriber is a paying supporter with access to the content and benefits included in the subscription tier they purchased. Creators can offer one or more tiers with their own pricing and benefits.
When a user subscribes, Fansly also counts that person as a follower. If the subscription later expires, the user can move back into the follower audience instead of disappearing from the creator’s audience entirely.
Subscriptions can renew automatically
Fansly states that subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is switched off. The creator controls the subscription tiers, benefits and pricing offered on the profile.
Follower content and subscriber content can be different
